Notary Services

The City of Stanley offers notary services by appointment. Please call or email us to request at 208-774-2286 or cityclerk@cityofstanleyid.gov.

Notary services can also be requested from the Mountain Village Resort (208-774-4688) or the Stanley Community Library (208-774-2470).

Police Department

In an emergency, please call 911.

The City of Stanley does not have a police department. Police coverage for the city is provided through an agreement with the Custer County Sheriff's Office.

Trash Disposal

The City of Stanley does not provide a trash disposal service for the residents of Stanley. As of 2023 the Custer County Transfer Station west of town on Hwy 21 is closed with no immediate plans to reopen.

The closest transfer stations are located at Smiley Creek and East Fork.

Emergency Services

An emergency mass notification system (CodeRED) is manged by Custer County. Custer County and Stanley also use the Ready, Set, Go! program. To learn more visit the Custer County Emergency Services site.
