Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Grant

HUD awarded the City of Stanley a 4 million dollar grant to build workforce housing. This grant was congressionally allocated.

Idaho Department of Commerce GEM Grant

A GEM grant award of $48,000 was arecieved by the city to improve the ice rink. This includes moving it, enlarging it, and upgrading lighting.

Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation

The Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation awarded the City of Stanley a $20,000 grant to install two zip lines in the Pioneer Park as well as a view finder.

Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation Grant

The City of Stanley received a grant for $199,000 from Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) to provide parking, restrooms, interpretative facilities for residents and visitors on the Stanley to Redfish Lake Trail. The city is contributing up to $219,000 in matching funds.

Goat License Plate Grant

The Sawtooth Society awarded a grant through the Goat License Plate Fund of $10,000 to the City of Stanley to help fund grooming of over 70 miles of winter motorized multi-use trails on the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. 

Donors

Sawtooth Ski Club

The Sawtooth Ski Club donates each year to the City of Stanley to help cover the cost of grooming the Nordic Ski Areas. Volunteers also help manage the trails.

Salmon River Snowmobile Club

The Salmon River Snowmobile Club helps the City of Stanley groom surrounding winter trails. They provide an annual donation as well as volunteer hours. The Snowmobile club donated $3,500 to the City of Stanley for the 2024/2025 grooming of motorized trails.

Stanley Ice Rink

Members of the Stanley Skate Club volunteer time to help maintain the rink and set it up each year.

Partners

Sawtooth National Recreation Area

The Sawtooth National Recreation Area (SNRA) is a district of the Sawtooth National Forest. The SNRA completely surrounds the City of Stanley and provides the stunning scenery Stanley is known for. The City Partners with the Forest Service in maintaining winter trails, on the Stanley to Redfish Lake Trail, and more.

The City of Stanley partners with Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) through grooming projects, additions to outdoor spaces, and more. 

Custer County

The City of Stanley is located within Custer County. The City partners with Custer County to provide maintenance, facilitate funding opportunities, and services to the community.

Association of Idaho Cities

The City of Stanley is a member of the Association of Idaho Cities (AIC). AIC is the leading resource for effective city governance in Idaho and is the go-to source for city related communication, ideas, education, training. 

Resort Cities Coalition 

The City of Stanley is part of the Resort Cities Coalition. Resort cities are designated within Idaho and this group helps cities work together.
